What is MBSR?

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a blend of meditation, body awareness, breathwork, and mindful yoga. During the course, participants learn how to be more present in the moment, cultivate inner peace, and understand how our bodies neurologically handle, and can resolve, stress.

The MBSR program offers a well-rounded approach that includes:

~ Practical exercises, such as body scans, mindful yoga, and sitting meditation, all scientifically proven to be effective.
~ Guidance and support from both the teacher and the group, fostering a collaborative and encouraging environment.
~ Time for self-reflection and journaling, helping you deepen your insights and track your progress.
~ Up-to-date insights on how the body and brain function, enhancing your understanding of mindfulness and its benefits.

MBSR courses, taught globally by certified teachers, have been successfully offered for over 40 years! They follow strict standards of practice, guaranteeing participants a consistently high-quality and transformative experience. I am honoured to share that I am a fully qualified mindfulness teacher with almost 5 years experience running the courses.

What are the benefits of regular mindfulness practice?

What you may experience during the MBSR course:

• Feel your stress levels finally soften — even on days that used to overwhelm you.
Soothe and regulate your nervous system, shifting from tension to ease.
• Quiet the racing thoughts that keep looping in your mind, and find more mental spaciousness.
Break the cycle of worry and emotional reactivity, returning to calm more quickly.
Improve your focus and clarity, so your mind feels more organised and less scattered.
Feel more grounded and embodied, instead of living only “in your head.”
Build a kinder, steadier relationship with yourself, noticing your confidence grow.
Sleep more deeply and peacefully, waking with more rest and clarity.
Restore your energy levels, rather than running on empty.
Appreciate everyday life more fully, noticing small joys you once rushed past.
• …and discover an inner steadiness you can return to anytime — no matter what’s happening around you.

Is MBSR

for you?

This course is for you if you:

  • Seek practical tools to navigate everyday stress and the challenges of an unpredictable world, from global issues like pandemics and inflation to personal uncertainties.

  • Are eager to enhance your mental health and boost your overall sense of well-being.

  • Feel overwhelmed by the constant demands of life and want to find a way to feel more grounded and in control.

  • Desire to break free from negative thought patterns and cultivate a mindset that fosters resilience and inner peace.

  • Aspire to live a more joyful, balanced, and fulfilling life.

No previous mindfulness experience is required - just a willingness to commit and learn!

Is MBSR therapy?

MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction)
is not a form of therapy in the clinical sense — it’s an evidence-based educational and training program.

It was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in the late 1970s to help people manage stress, pain, and difficult emotions through mindfulness practice.

MBSR teaches participants to:

  • become more aware of thoughts, emotions, and body sensations,

  • respond to stress more skillfully rather than react automatically,

  • cultivate presence and self-compassion in daily life.

To sum up - MBSR is not a form of therapy, and I’m not a certified therapist or psychologist. However, mindfulness can be a healing approach that draws on elements of talk and group therapy. Through shared experiences and self-awareness, participants often uncover missing pieces in their lives that help them grow and thrive.

What do I need to take part in?

You'll need:

  • Time and commitment – to attend the weekly 2.5-hour sessions, the Mindful Silent Day, and to engage in 30–45 minutes of daily home practice. Regular practice is key to experiencing the full benefits of the program.

  • A quiet space – a comfortable spot at home where you can practice mindfulness without interruptions. It doesn’t have to be perfect — just a place that feels calm and private.

  • An open mind – curiosity and willingness to explore new ways of relating to stress, emotions, and everyday challenges.

What do participants say after the course?

"I participated in the MBSR course and I can strongly recommend it! Magda is very warm and friendly, she knows how to create a safe space for everyone. She has the necessary skills to lead a course like this, with her strength being the calming voice and demeanor. I felt supported throughout the course It was also very helpful in understanding more about mindfulness and stress. I am definitely a calmer person now!"

Roberta

"I just completed an 8 week mindfulness course with Magda. The course was exceptional. Magda herself has great communication skills and was quickly able to put everyone at ease. Accomodating as well to perform two extra sessions with me as well as I was not able to join two of the initially scheduled ones.

Before the course I was at a point in my life where stress and anxiety were taking over. Today, thanks to this course I have in my tool kit, a range of formal and informal mindfulness practices to be more appreciative of the world around me and slow my overthinking mind down which enables me to focus on the people around me that I care about.

Thank you Magda, the world DEFINITELY needs more wonderful human beings like you."
